After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Management, I quickly secured a well-paid programmer position at a renowned telecommunications company. I had big plans to make my mark within the organization. But, as reality set in and I got a glimpse of the undergarments of “Big Corpa”, the initial thrill waned, and work slowly lost its significance.
Following the outsourcing of my department nine years onward, I decided to leave the organization. I dedicated myself to charity work, to potentially launch my charitable initiative. Dissatisfaction with my corporate role led me to believe that I could find more meaning in my life by actively contributing to a charitable cause. However, during my involvement in this pursuit, I couldn’t help but notice the financial challenges confronting many existing charities. The operational model was evidently unsustainable. The dual challenge of serving the needs of others while simultaneously grappling with the ongoing struggle to sustain the organization’s work did not seem like a viable approach. This prompted me to consider a shift towards farming, which aligned with my passion for health and wellness. Unfortunately, I failed to heed the signs indicating the unprofitability of this venture, driven by my confidence that I could make it succeed. Before long, I found myself contemplating my next move as I faced the realization of losing my investment.
Feeling utterly lost and stuck, uncertain about my next steps, I had big dreams of thriving in business, building wealth, and leaving a meaningful legacy, yet was clueless about how to turn those aspirations into reality. It felt like navigating through a maze with no guidance, each day bringing new challenges and frustrations. The constant struggle left me feeling like a complete failure in the business world.
